getting ready

Grama Bama's coming to visit at the end of next month.

She sent Danny a Scrabble Junior game a few weeks ago. She wants to play it with him while she's here. He's getting a head start so he can be the Scrabble Junior champ.

She better watch out. He's gotten quite good at it.

We hung up a paper chain and the countdown is on!

(This is when I'm thankful for my nonexistent home decorating skills and my big huge blank dining room wall. Lots of space for paper chains.)

Grama Bama also sent a Blokus Junior game. Dan played this with Danny a few times. Danny explained the rules to me and we gave it a try.

The tv was on so he was having a hard time concentrating.

I think we figured it out. I'm not very good at it though. Games of high skill and concentration are not my thing. I prefer trivia. I don't think Danny's very good at those kinds of games yet though.

Cate came over and decided she wanted to play too. I don't remember who started it but this lovely scene ended in Cate being punched in the belly and Danny being bitten on his "elbow" (which was really his shoulder).

Fun times.

May I request that Grama Bama make a stop at our house, too? She seems like so much fun!

Off to look up Blokus. Never heard of it, but it looks like Tetris, and I've been meaning to introduce the kids to Tetris.
