The snacks are ready.
I found these last year and I've been saving them in my underwear drawer.
They're little York peppermint patty candies.
The perfect colors.
I thought it would be fun to put them in a bag with a big blue and white ribbon.
Maybe add a note that said something like
LET THE GAMES BEGIN
or
GAME ON
or
MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN
and then present them to our wonderful neighbors across the street.
I think they'd get the humor in it.
But they went out of town last night.
Kind of ruins the fun if they're not here.
So I'm giving the little candy bag to Dan right before the game starts.

Cate's dress is ready for church tomorrow.
Win or lose.
Win or lose.
My friend, Janell, made it.
She also made these bows for Cate's hair.
Too cute.

I don't really get into football very much.
I prefer to just wait until the last 5 minutes or so and then see who wins.
I'm pretty sure that drives Dan crazy.
After dinner I'm taking the kids over to play with their cousins so Dan can watch the game in peace.
And so he can yell at the refs without me reminding him that they can't hear him.
I'm pretty sure that drives him crazy too.
I'm trying to get the kids excited about our alma mater.
Dan said that if we don't, they might choose to go somewhere else for school.
I shudder at the thought.
We don't want to give them a reason for us to disown them, now do we?
There's only one exception that will keep us from shunning them for life.
War Eagle!
