last friday

Cate drew a picture of Daddy on Aunt Judy's chalkboard wall.
I love it.
Look at those fingers.
I drew a mermaid and a knight in shining armor.
Neither one was as cute as hers.

I took Cate to the farm to see the baby animals.
I decided to just let her walk around for as long as she wanted.
No hurrying. Just let her have as much fun as she could.
We were there for 3 hours.
She let the mama goat lick the oat/corn/whatever food out of her hand.
I'm a good mommy for letting that happen. No doubt about it.

I made s'mores whoopie pies.
They were super duper sweet.
I couldn't eat the whole thing.
Just a bite of Danny's since he couldn't eat the whole thing either.
I think a big glass of milk would help.

Not my favorite day of the week.
I didn't shower or put on make-up.
I was feeling crummy by afternoon.
Cate and I read stories on the couch.
I really wanted her to just go take a nap but she was having none of that.
Some days are just like that.
Not showering does nothing to help my crummy mood though.
From now on, I'll shower. No matter what.
Especially on Monday.

We went house hunting with Aunt Judy.
We got to walk through a few big ones.
Made me realize how tiny my house is.
Small homes grow close families though right?
Keeping my fingers crossed for that one.

At the park. Again.
Here's my horrible mom confession:
I don't enjoy taking kids to the park.
They love it (especially Cate and Ray Ray) so I do it anyway.
This one is close to Ray Ray's house but there's no potty there.
The weather this week has been beautiful so there's no excuse to just stay inside.
Dang it.
I decided that I need some sunglasses and a big wide brimmed hat.
That might make all this sunshine bearable.

I did a lot of laying in bed next to Danny in the morning.
I was trying to get my thoughts together for my little presentation that night.
He was playing a video game and narrating it.
That didn't help my concentration.
He named this stuffed dog Shell Shock.
He's got another one named Third Best.
I don't know where he comes up with this stuff.
He's funny.

And for anyone who's wondering, my big scary meeting is done!
I didn't puke but I did cry just a little.
My friend said I was amazing so I'll just go with that.
She paid me in chocolate.

life rearranged

The whoopie pies made me wish I was your next door neighbor and best friend. Also, in my head I cried out, "YES!"

I hope you have a great week.
