star wars on my mind

A few gift ideas for the almost four-year-old Star Wars enthusiast living in this house.

Birthday in a month and a half.

Christmas five weeks after that.

Those minimalist star wars posters up there

I showed them to Danny.
He named every one of them.
I was thinking he wouldn't get the Han Solo one.
He did.
I wish there was a Yoda poster too.

a Star Wars cookbook

some recipes we could make together:

Darth Malt
Pickle Jar Jar
Amidala Challah
Pit Droid Pizza
Qui-Gon Jinn-ger Snaps

a personalized apron

to wear while we're making Anakin's Apple Crisp
and Hideous Sidious Sorbet

a teddy bear

Don't tell Danny.
Grama Bama bought the Darth Vader bear for him.
She called me this morning.
She was thrilled with its cuteness.
It even plays the Imperial March.
I'm thinking he needs the Jedi Knight outfit for the bear his other grandma gave him.
Then he can have a teddy bear battle.

Take a look at this ultimate Star Wars party that my friend found.
I am in awe.

Princess Leia cupcakes
Han Solo in Carbonite Jell-0
Yoda Soda
Vader Taters

I love it all!

Maybe I'll save all that fun food for another birthday though.
Like one when Danny would actually eat it.
Supposing he still loves Star Wars by then.
Or I could figure out how to turn chicken nuggets, broccoli, strawberries and corndogs into food with clever Star Wars names.
Any ideas?

I'm thinking this year I might just have to do a remake of Jarrett's R2D2 cake for Danny.

Anyone want to volunteer to come watch my kids for a day so I can decorate in peace?

I can pay you in soda.

Yoda Soda

Is that soda made from Yoda? Not sure I want that. But if it is soda that was named for the legendary Jedi, then ok. It would be good soda, probably. But not if it's green, unless it tastes like Mountain Dew. But then it might not be called Yoda Soda...

I can't wait to see what all you make for the party!

This blog makes Yoda Soda with sprite & lime sherbet.
