at least I don't have a tail

Cate's Princess Leia hair buns...she's supposed to wear this on her head somehow?

Danny is going to be Darth Vader for Halloween.

Cate will be dressed as Princess Leia. Danny reminds her almost every day.

Now she says, "Me-uh Pincess Way-uh" almost every day.

Danny asked me who I'm going to be for Halloween.

I said something along the lines of "I'm going to be Jabba the Hutt because I'm a big fat meanie with a tail."

Without missing a beat, my sweet little boy said, "But, Mama, you don't have a tail."

Ouch. That hurts.

We were driving in the car on Saturday. Danny started talking about costumes yet again.

I asked him, "Who is Daddy going to be for Halloween?"

His reply, "Chewbacca."

That's the first time he's had that answer. Last I heard, Dan was going to be Obi Wan Kenobi.

"Why Chewbacca?" I asked.

"Because he has lots of hair on his body."

"Who does? Chewbacca?"

"No! Daddy!"

It's true. He does.

Now I just have to figure out how to make that big sash that Chewbacca wears, the one that holds his bullets (or cigarette lighters or whatever the heck those metal things are) and Dan's costume will be complete.

I personally think he'd look quite smashing as Han Solo, but Danny has spoken.

Chewbacca it is.

And I'm not really going to be Jabba the Hutt. I don't think I could pull off the big slimy slug creature look. Besides, I don't even have a tail.

Any other suggestions?

You'll just have to be Queen Amadala or whatever her name is from the episode one that hooks up with Anakin... (Can you see my kids aren't into Star Wars yet?? I don't even remember the names well.)

To be a true Star Wars family, Dan should be Darth Vader. I should be Queen Amidala. Danny should be Luke. Cate should be Princess Leah. That's never going to happen so we'll settle for a miss matched family this year. I think I need to borrow baby Ray so he can be Yoda.
