gift baxes

Look what I found in my latest copy of Family Fun Magazine!

Gift Baxes!

(go ahead and say it like you're from Baaaaston...you know, in Massachusetts)

Gift Baaaaaxes!

It's a gift bag that's really a box and I love it.
So much so that I made three of them.

I'm a sucker for cute packaging.

(I'm also a sucker for Special Olympics which is why I bought the subscription to Family Fun magazine in the first place.
Now you know.)

My little girl just looked at this picture and said, "Oh! My! Doss!"
Apparently she likes them too.

Best part, I already had all the stuff to make the adorable gift baxes.

And just in case any of you are wondering,
no, I am not trying to convert this into a craft blog.
I don't have a craft room.
I have no idea how to use my sewing machine.
I go to Robert's maybe once every three months.
My children do not leave me alone long enough to put on my make up,
much less be crafty enough to blog about it daily.
I don't dream about alternate uses for bent paper clips or empty toilet paper tubes.

I do get happy about things sometimes.
These gift baxes made me happy enough to want to make some.
I had a moment of craftiness.
I thought I'd share.

That is all.

Plus, they're not for decoration.
They're useful.
Maybe that's where I draw the line at crafty.

Whatever.

I added some ribbon to the tall one to cover up the seam.
I know. I'm a crafty genius.

There will be no tutorial full of pictures showing you step-by-step instructions on how to make your own gift baxes.

I think you could figure out that I just cut off the top flaps of a popcorn box, a saltine cracker box and another box (which shall not be named because I don't want anyone to know I bought junk food) and then wrapped them like presents.
You could pretty much figure out on your own that I then punched holes near the tops and stuck some ribbon through those holes.

You're smart like that, right?

That's what I thought.

And you could also figure out that if you buy cheap wrapping paper at the dollar store
(and it's kind of see through with only one layer)
that you should wrap it around again so that it sufficiently covers up the picture of the junk food on the front of the box.
That way the recipient doesn't know that you bought junk food in the first place.

The only sad thing about these cute little gift baxes is that I'll have to give them away.

And that I need to make about a dozen more of them and I don't happen to have a dozen boxes of saltine crackers in the pantry.

Minor details.
